30.5x22.9 cm ~ Painting, Oil, Acrylic
In a scenic junkyard in a ghost town in the desert I found this old fire hydrant, looking like a lost little boy in an old fashioned yellow raincoat, rusty, dusty and alone. As I painted there, memory fragments disturbed my concentration as I remembered....
Consider this my love letter to that peculiar moment when the past whispers through rust and nostalgia. Standing proudly against a backdrop of rich hues and earthy tones, it's like the fire hydrant jumped out of its rusty old life to dance under the desert sky.
